Im Schoß das Meer
Audiovisual Composition, 09’29’’
Im Schoß das Meer is an audiovisual composition by Leonie Strecker. The sight of the sea and the sound of its waves. In the centre of which devilish whirlpools, unnatural and blissful, the undertow sweeps us away. Filled by the sea, enclosed by it in turn, as something contained, in the lap of the water that has, as it were, become fixed, immersed in the perpetual consonance of the shapeless liquid. The work combines sound, voice and found footage material to create a video work. The female voice and the breath of the singer Rose Weissgerber are used as a means of sound generation; voice, breath and video material describe the context of the female as liquid. Floods, physical forces.
